Jawa Motorcycles has launched the updated 2024 Jawa 42 motorcycle in the Indian market, with prices ranging between Rs 1.73 lakh and Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2024 model comes with some cosmetic changes including a new seat, new colour options, and a few mechanical updates. Notably, the new motorcycle is more affordable than the outgoing model, which was priced from Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

2024 Jawa 42 Specification

The 2024 Jawa 42 is powered by a new 294 cc J Panther single-cylinder engine, producing 26.9 bhp of power and 26.84 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch. Jawa has introduced gear-based engine mapping for the new 42, wherein the first three gears focus on low rpm riding, while the fourth gear and above focus on mid-range and top-end performance.

The engine has been upgraded to reduce NVH levels and improve cooling. The twin exhaust setup has been redesigned with a more free-flow design, and the Lambda sensor is now housed near the exhaust ports of the engine block. Other mechanical improvements include a retuned suspension for better ground clearance and greater ride comfort, along with a revised seat. The updated 42 has a seat height of 788 mm.

In terms of features, the base variants of the new 42 come with a semi-digital cluster, single-channel ABS, and spoke wheels. The top trims offer a fully digital cluster, dual-channel ABS, alloy wheels, and matte paint options. The bike retains the same double cradle frame as the outgoing model, suspended by a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers, but with revised compression and rebound damping. Braking duties are managed by a disc brake on both ends.

Jawa's updates to the 2024 Jawa 42 aim to provide improved performance, comfort, and more affordability, making it an attractive option for motorcycle enthusiasts in the Indian market.
